VFR Inspection

Fuse Aviation travels to multiple southern California airports to provide biennial VFR Inspections. These inspections are required every 24 calendar months to comply with 14 CFR 914.13.

During your VFR appointment we will test the aircraft’s transponder system. The inspection consists of verifying multiple output parameters of your transponder including Mode A and C, Radio Reply Frequency, Suppression, Sensitivity and RF Peak Output. More parameters may be required depending on your transponder model.

Please review your equipment’s Instructions for Continued Airworthiness’ (ICA). Even though you are flying VFR the equipment manufacture may require equipment to be tested per IFR standards. Learn more about the required testing

NOTE* There is no testing of your Altimeter, Pitot Static or Altitude Reporting System during a VFR inspection but you may choose to have your equipment tested to IFR standards.

NOTE* If the transponder is removed the Altitude Reporting System must be tested after installation. For a basic VFR appointment we must be able to identify your transponders part number and serial number without removing the unit from the radio rack. If the transponder information is not available a VFR + Altitude Reporting Appointment will be necessary.

Note: Altimeter = Analog, Digital or ADC
